Bonsai Plants – Tips On Care And Tricks

Bonsai plants are pretty difficult to grow. If you don’t know what you are doing, you will end up with a lot of dead leaves and dead branches. These plants and the trees you put them in, become more beautiful when they are carefully cared for. Let’s talk about some tips that will help you do the right thing.

Learn How To Take Care Of Your Bonsai Plants

You want to start by learning how to take care of your bonsai plants. It takes time, but it’s well worth it. Too many new people want instant gratification, and they end up upset about the leaves dying. That is just not the way to go. I have been growing plants for about 25 years now, and that has never happened to me.

You need to learn what is best for your plants. Most people who know about bonsai plants neglect to realize that the first thing you need to do is give them water. They can get quite dry, especially in the summer. Many people don’t know how to water their bonsai plants properly. The last thing you want to do is plant something, let it get wet, and then have to water it when the rest of the plants die. That is the worst thing that can happen to a plant.

Bonsai Tree

Bonsai trees must be watered a couple of times a week. That’s not too much, but you want to make sure they have enough water in their soil. There is a special type of fertilizer that you can buy that will supply them with all the nutrients they need. They need to be fed three to four times a year.

In the early spring, you want to pick your bonsai plants early. The reason is that they won’t have many leaves left. This means less water, which means more leaf die off. This is called “stagnant” water, and that is why you want to get them out of the hot sun before the weather gets too warm.

They also need to be pruned every once in a while, as they may get out of shape or there may be cracks or weak branches. This is something that every tree should be pruned on a regular basis. Don’t hesitate to do it on a regular basis, and if you start to see your bonsai trees looking sickly, go ahead and cut them anyway.

Bonsai trees are going to branch a lot. This is natural, and you can’t force them to branch. You just have to learn to tolerate the growth of those branches.

You can take great care of a real bonsai tree by growing it as an indoor plant. This is a big project, and I’m not suggesting that you go ahead and do it, but I am telling you that it can be done.

Types Of Bonsai Plants and Trees

Bonsai trees come in different types of shapes and sizes. This means that you will have to keep track of the different elements of them. Look at your plant every day to see what kind of shape it is in, and what type of growth is happening.

When you decide that you are ready to move the plant to an outdoor garden, remember that this takes a lot of time and effort. It can also be dangerous, so take care of it carefully. Don’t just move it into a corner and forget about it, because if the weather gets too cold, it will freeze and then die.

Make sure that you water your outdoor plant when the weather is good, but don’t wait for it to rain to water it. It needs to have a constant supply of water, but don’t let it sit around for days on end. If it rains in the fall, wait until the following spring to water it.

Bonsai trees can be made to look really good by using a lot of different plants. Just use your imagination, and make sure that the colors blend together and they complement each other. If you have any leaves that aren’t green, that’s okay, you can make the other colors match. Edit with the Docs app
